Missed-call text-back

The owner can't answer on a job site, and some callers move on.

Proof build available

We built this one for real: Twilio and Vercel, 23 passing tests, with real 10DLC costs and gotchas. Locally tested, not yet run live. See the proof build and code โ†’

Requirements & gating

Check what the app already does first:

Build steps

  1. Check whether the phone system or app already does this (OpenPhone/Quo and others advertise it: not verified).
  2. Otherwise use Twilio: a missed-call status callback triggers an SMS through a registered 10DLC campaign.
  3. The LLM handles the reply thread to capture the project type and address, then hands off to the owner.

Test cases before go-live

Tool names are examples, not endorsements. Check current features, plan tiers, and pricing before quoting a client.

Sample prompt

A caller missed us. Send: 'Sorry we missed you, this is {biz}. What can we help with? Reply STOP to opt out.' Then collect the project type and address and hand off.

Pitch it to the owner

"Missed callers get a text back within a minute."

Lead with the outcome, not with "AI," and show the business case using their own numbers.

What can go wrong

Not legal advice. Texting, calling, and recording rules vary by country and state and change over time. Have the client confirm compliance with qualified counsel before launch.

Suggested price

$400โ€“$1,200 setup + $50โ€“$150/mo

Starting estimate only, not verified against market rates. Adjust for scope and support.
